Hello dear au pair, We are a loving two-mom family from Espoo, Finland, a green and family-friendly city near Helsinki. We are both career-oriented mothers and have four wonderful children — three cheerful girls aged 1, 5, and 10, and a kind, thoughtful 8-year-old boy on the autism spectrum. Our son loves baking and video games and feels happiest at home. He sometimes needs peaceful days instead of school, and during those times you would simply stay home with him and receive extra free time later. Our children speak and understand some English, and in 2025 we hosted an exchange student from the U.S., so we already have experience as a host family and know how to make our guest feel welcome and respected. References from our former exchange student are available upon request. We live in a large two-story house with a sauna, outdoor hot tub under the stars, and a gentle Dalmatian dog. You’ll have your own private room on a separate floor, high-speed internet, and several paid TV channels. Public transport stops right outside, with easy access to Helsinki, Espoo city center, and nearby shopping areas. We are both active and creative: one of us runs a hair salon and color company, and the other works in government administration as the Chairperson of the Finnish Rainbow Families Association. Your role includes: – Taking the younger girls to daycare (helping the youngest dress) – Being home from 15:00–17:00 when schoolchildren return – Preparing snacks and simple meals – Helping with light laundry and chores on your own schedule – Being home with our son when we take the girls out (2–4 hrs) – Occasionally helping in the evening when we have work events or go out You will have plenty of free time during the day and 1–2 full days off per week. We offer a warm, inclusive home, 340 €/month pocket money, free room and meals, a public transport card, and free hairdressing services at our own salon. You may also attend Finnish language classes or cultural activities if you wish.
