My name is Ikram and I am English teacher. I hold a BA in Applied Languages from the Higher Institute of Human Sciences and an MA in Business and Communication from the Faculty of Humanities in Tunis. I am a native Arabic speaker; I am fluent in English and French, and I have a working knowledge of German and Spanish. I taught English for one year at the University of Tunisia, and then for three years in different private language centers. In 2014, I was selected to attend a four month academic training (the Leadership of Democracy Fellows) at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs of Syracuse University. I have extensive experience as a private tutor for children and young teenagers. In particular, I am specialized in imparting English to pupils who have not been exposed to the language before. My teaching technique is based on the principle of active learning by playing: the new language is thus introduced to the pupil in an accessible and playful fashion, which makes the transition to a more systematic study later on both easy and successful. During my lessons, I use my own material that I have developed over the course of the years in different teaching settings.
